The Ruins at the Astor: A Dreamy Historic Wedding Venue in Astoria, Oregon

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels romantic, a little moody, incredibly unique, and full of history, The Ruins at the Astor in Astoria, Oregon deserves a spot on your list. Located right in downtown Astoria, The Ruins is one of those venues that almost doesn’t need much decorating. The towering windows, weathered walls, Gothic Revival details, mosaic tile floors, Corinthian columns, and beautiful mezzanine create a backdrop that feels completely unlike a traditional wedding venue. The main hall is about 2,600 square feet and can accommodate up to around 150 seated guests, with larger maximum capacities depending on the setup.

For 2026/2027, the venue currently lists:

Weekday weddings starting at $1,900

Weekend weddings starting at $3,900

A cleaning fee applies

Mezzanine access for photos is an additional add-on (as a photographer I highly, highly recommend!)

Getting Ready Locations

One of my favorite things about having a wedding at The Ruins is how many unique places you can stay nearby. There are several vintage and historic Airbnb options around Astoria that make beautiful getting-ready spaces.There are also beautiful Astor Suites located directly upstairs from The Ruins, owned by Norblad, which makes them such a convenient option for getting ready or even staying for your honeymoon.

But more than the architecture or the details, Tyler and Hannah’s wedding was special because of the people.

Their families were absolutely wonderful, and there was so much genuine love throughout the entire day.

As their photographer, my goal wasn’t just to photograph the pretty things. I wanted to preserve all of those little pieces of their day that they might not even realize were happening. The hugs, the laughter, the happy tears, the way their families looked at them, and all of those quiet moments between the big ones. The venue can be beautiful. The dress can be stunning. The flowers can be perfect.

But the love in the room is what makes the photographs mean something.

And Tyler and Hannah had so much of it.
